Flogiston Chair
Description: The flogiston chair supported the body in its neutral body posture. It was a one piece hull covered in long memory foam and finished in leather or. It could be mounted from the ceiling, or on different bases to provide a rocker or fixed base. It's connection to VR was based on the idea that you didn't need a body in cyberspace, just a presence, so the chair was a place to leave your body. It got a lot of exposure in its day, including a starring role in The Lawnmower Man, the first Hollywood movie to feature VR.
Design: Brian Park
